Hey girls — I’m Joanna, one of the proud founders of Soul Sisters!
My lash journey started eight years ago, at the age of 32. As a busy mum of three juggling the 9–5 life, I craved more flexibility and freedom. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I enrolled in a beginner’s classic lash course at a local salon — and honestly, it was the best decision I ever made.
From there, everything changed. I became my own boss, set my own hours, and built a career that fit around my family life. I spent late nights perfecting my lash skills while the kids slept, and when I felt ready for more, I followed my heart into teaching.
Earning my Level 3 Teaching Qualification was one of the most challenging things I’ve done — especially since I never saw myself as academic. But with determination (and yes, a few tears along the way!), I passed — and it opened so many doors.
As the business grew, I moved out of my home setup and into a high-street salon — and that’s when my beautiful little sister, Faye, joined me. I trained her at just 16, and she quickly became an irreplaceable part of the journey. Today, she’s not just my sister — she’s my business partner, and the other half of Soul Sisters.
Together, we’ve built a thriving salon, a growing training academy, and a supportive team of talented lash artists. More than anything, we’re passionate about empowering women to build successful, fulfilling careers in the beauty industry.

My lash journey began at just 16, during my first year of college. Like most girls my age, I was after some extra cash for makeup, clothes, and all the fun stuff — so I finally let my big sister, Jo, train me in lashes. Looking back, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
To be honest, the beginning wasn’t easy. Talking to strangers was nerve-wracking, 3–4 hour lash sets felt endless, and don’t even get me started on the backache (lash techs, you know). But with patience, practice, and loads of support, I started to improve — my sets became neater, faster, and my confidence began to grow.
Eventually, I made the decision to go full-time and pour everything I had into our salon and business. As I found my feet, I started building genuine friendships with clients, and I truly believe this job has helped me come out of my shell in so many ways.
Now at 21, I’m incredibly proud to be not just a lash artist, but a salon and business owner. And the most exciting part? We’re launching our very own lash brand! I can’t wait to see all your gorgeous faces wearing our products — and being part of the Soul Sisters journey.
